About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develops software systems, subsystems, and system enhancements from established requirements using established software engineering processes
Completes detailed design and development work independently for individual software components
Integrates developed products individually and/or at the subsystem level
Follows software engineering standards
Assists senior engineers in software system or subsystem development and documentation efforts
Adheres to schedules and stays within established budgets
Designs and develops software functionality based on established requirements and specifications
Prepares technical data and presentation material to support design reviews
Participates in and conducts software peer reviews to validate coding and implementation standards
Performs coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science or other relevant degree
Minimum 4 years of experience as software developer
Designs and develop software applications following established requirements and specifications using the appropriate tools
Maintains and modifies existing software functionality and enhancing existing software
Experience testing developed software in accordance with specified test procedures and resolving identified discrepancies and deficiencies
Experience debugging, troubleshooting and fixing reported software issues
Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
Preferred: Experience supporting military, government, or technical training programs
Preferred: Proficiency in C# or other object-oriented programming languages such as C++ or Java
Preferred: Experience developing or supporting web-based applications
Preferred: Experience with Modeling and simulation applications
Preferred: Experience working with and executing established understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes
Preferred: Experience developing software applications using gaming engines such as Unity and/or Unreal Engine
Preferred: Experience with Flight Simulator Development and Delivery
Preferred: Experience with Wartsila NTPRO
