About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, implement, and evaluate training programs to improve team member skills
  • Identify employee training needs and develop instructional materials and curricula
  • Deliver engaging instructor-led, web-based, and blended training sessions
  • Deliver retail banking training across branch locations in collaboration with Retail Banking and Branch Operations leadership and subject matter experts
  • Coordinate, develop, deliver, and evaluate training for new and existing team members
  • Provide training on consultative sales, customer service, banking fundamentals, product knowledge, cross-training, new-hire training, refresher courses, procedural updates, technology, system conversions, fraud recognition, and managerial soft skills
  • Lead projects and developmental programs that cultivate, engage, and develop talent
  • Host and moderate corporate training sessions
  • Prepare and edit training materials, record live sessions, schedule training, send invitations and reminders, and complete follow-up activities
  • Apply a consulting, customer-centric, and goal-driven approach to development
  • Challenge outdated processes, champion change, and propose innovative improvements to management
  • Identify root causes of training and development issues and develop solutions for performance gaps
  • Partner with technology vendors to understand system functionality and teach system changes
  • Develop and maintain the Retail training calendar, registration site, and training logistics
  • Maintain knowledge of Dime Bank policies, procedures, programs, and guidelines
  • Promote compliance with the Code of Conduct, Bank Secrecy Act, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Manage and evaluate training vendor relationships
  • Coordinate employee educational programs and maintain related records
  • Participate in the budget process, manage educational invoices, and ensure budget adherence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial institution as a teller, personal/universal banker, or assistant manager preferred, or minimum of 3 years of experience in a field providing the required knowledge, skills, competencies, and abilities
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience utilizing COCC Insight banking software, including teller transactions and personal/universal banker new account opening, maintenance, and inquiries
  • Deep understanding of retail banking procedures, practices, processes, systems, technology, and culture
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills for development and facilitation of training
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable in a rapid and changing environment
  • Proven experience creating and facilitating learning/training materials
  • Ability to build rapport and relationships across business lines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity and appropriately handle sensitive information
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Comfortable adopting new technology and systems to create and deliver training
  • Willingness to travel to different branch locations within the Bank’s footprint
  • Current knowledge of trends in adult learning
  • In-person classroom training and virtual training experience desired
