About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, document, and test multiple services
Build and deliver technology services supporting the technology platform
Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, subject matter experts, and project managers to ensure successful delivery
Lead technical teams in designing and engineering modern, secure, scalable solutions
Critique and approve code changes for other developers
Mentor and develop junior engineers
Mature technology processes and improve architecture patterns
Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines and develop supportable solutions
Improve development practices
Write unit and integration tests, contribute to the engineering wiki, and write detailed documentation
Integrate platform services with existing systems such as ServiceNow
Provide technical troubleshooting and production support
Collaborate with subject matter experts to support developers, business users, and clients
Stay current with emerging technologies and help define the service roadmap

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
10+ years of programming experience in Python (open source) or equivalent
5+ years supervising other developers and reviewing and approving code changes through standard SDLC processes
Experience with automated acceptance testing and ability to write unit-tested, maintainable code
Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and web services
Strong understanding of cybersecurity risks and ability to design and build highly secure applications
Significant experience working in a dynamic and interactive team environment to build world-class software implementations
Proven track record of delivering value and innovation through CI/CD
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service environment
Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies with a software development and integration focus
Preferred: Site Reliability Engineering
Preferred: Financial services industry knowledge or experience
Preferred experience with message streaming systems such as Kafka, GitHub, build pipelines such as GitHub Actions and TeamCity, Airflow, PostgreSQL, Ansible, messaging and queuing systems such as SQS, Redis, containerization and orchestration such as Docker and Kubernetes, Okta, OAuth2, PlainID, monitoring and alerting such as ELK and Grafana, and ServiceNow
