About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor network traffic, system logs, endpoint detection, and security alerts to identify threats and vulnerabilities
  • Respond to and investigate alerts, suspected breaches, and network intrusions
  • Execute incident response tasks
  • Review vulnerability assessments and help mitigate identified issues
  • Create and work security tickets according to defined procedures
  • Contribute to briefings and reports for management reviews and compliance audits
  • Propose improvements to standard operating procedures and security tooling
  • Partner with IT and product development teams on security operations and risk mitigation
  • Help colleagues understand security concepts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years of equivalent experience in a related field; relevant certifications and non-traditional training count
  • Working knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, applications, and security technology concepts
  • Hands-on experience operating SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewall security toolsets
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking ability, including risk assessment
  • Ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Keen attention to detail and comfort handling several things at once
  • Genuine team-player instincts across cross-functional groups
  • Preferred: entry-level security certification such as Security+ or CEH
  • Preferred: cloud security exposure on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Preferred: familiarity with SOC 2, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS
  • Preferred: scripting in Python or PowerShell for automation
  • Ability to work Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM–12:00 AM EAT (8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST)
