About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, build, and operate secure, scalable, highly available cloud infrastructure on Azure
- Make infrastructure usable by engineering teams through infrastructure as code, CI/CD automation, and container orchestration
- Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure across AKS, virtual networks, load balancers, storage accounts, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and IAM
- Optimize costs, plan capacity, and improve performance
- Build and maintain Terraform modules under version control
- Enforce IaC standards and environment parity across development, QA, and production
- Work with Security and Architecture to embed compliance into IaC pipelines
- Operate AKS clusters for production and non-production workloads
- Manage container deployments, scaling, rolling upgrades, and resiliency patterns
- Troubleshoot cluster, node, pod, and networking problems
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployment
- Automate build, test, release, and rollback
- Integrate security scans, quality gates, and infrastructure validation into pipelines
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis
- Drive post-incident improvements
- Collaborate with Software Engineering, QA, Security, and Architecture as a shared owner of production
- Participate in an on-call rotation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of hands-on DevOps or platform engineering
- Strong Azure: AKS, virtual networks, load balancers, storage accounts, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, IAM
- Terraform — building and maintaining your own modules, not only running someone else's
- Kubernetes in production, ideally AKS: deployments, scaling, rolling upgrades, resiliency, and real troubleshooting
- CI/CD pipeline design and ownership, including automated rollback
- Monitoring, alerting, and logging, plus genuine incident response experience
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
- Collaborative instincts across engineering, QA, security, and architecture
- Security scanning and compliance automation in pipelines preferred
- Cost optimization with measured results preferred
- Azure Policy and governance preferred
- Scripting depth in Python, PowerShell, or Bash preferred
- Payroll, HCM, or other regulated-domain SaaS experience preferred
- Availability for the schedule of 3:00 PM–12:00 AM EAT, Monday to Friday
