About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own significant features end to end across Angular and TypeScript front end, Node.js and Express services and APIs, and the underlying data layer
  • Provide design input, implementation, test coverage, and production accountability
  • Lead code reviews and maintain the team's quality bar
  • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers
  • Partner with product management on requirements before finalization
  • Collaborate with QA to ensure test strategy covers relevant risks

  • Work on the boundary between the modern stack and the mature payroll core
  • Contribute to a migration without missed pay runs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6–10 years of hands-on full stack development
  • Strong JavaScript and TypeScript, with substantial single-page application work in Angular
  • Solid Node.js and Express, with real experience designing REST APIs or microservices rather than only consuming them
  • Testing discipline across unit, integration, and functional levels
  • Strong SQL and data modeling ability
  • Demonstrated code review leadership and mentoring
  • Ability to debug across tiers and reason from symptom to root cause under pressure
  • Docker, AWS or Azure, legacy modernization experience, CI/CD ownership, NoSQL or multi-value database exposure, AI-assisted development practice, or payroll, benefits, or HCM domain knowledge are nice to have
  • Availability to work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday to Friday
