About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clinical supervision, consultation, coaching, and guidance to assigned clinical and behavioral health staff
  • Oversee and review LOCUS and CALOCUS assessments and level-of-care recommendations
  • Ensure assessments are accurate and completed within required timeframes
  • Review clinical assessments, reassessments, treatment plans/ISRPs, 90-day progress summaries, progress notes, discharge documentation, and other clinical records
  • Review documentation for quality, medical necessity, accuracy, timeliness, and consistency with client needs and authorized services
  • Provide clinical guidance regarding CPST, PSR, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, treatment planning, care coordination, and other authorized behavioral health services
  • Assist staff with developing measurable, individualized treatment goals and objectives
  • Review cases and ensure interventions are appropriate to diagnoses, impairments, needs, goals, and level of care
  • Conduct individual and/or group clinical supervision meetings
  • Consult on complex clinical needs, behavioral concerns, psychiatric hospitalization, crisis episodes, safety concerns, and significant changes in functioning
  • Review risk factors and ensure appropriate responses and documentation for significant safety concerns
  • Assist with referrals to higher or lower levels of care and additional community resources
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment-team meetings, utilization reviews, clinical case conferences, and staff meetings
  • Identify documentation deficiencies and provide corrective guidance
  • Assist the Clinical Director with monitoring clinical performance, service delivery, documentation compliance, and agency-policy adherence
  • Train and educate staff on LOCUS/CALOCUS, medical necessity, documentation, treatment planning, evidence-based practices, ethics, confidentiality, and behavioral health requirements
  • Assist with LDH, Medicaid, MCO, CARF, credentialing, utilization-management, and quality-review activities
  • Participate in corrective-action planning
  • Maintain HIPAA and confidentiality compliance
  • Communicate significant clinical, compliance, documentation, staff-performance, and client-safety concerns to leadership
  • Complete supervisory documentation, reviews, and reports within deadlines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or another applicable behavioral health discipline from an accredited institution
  • Current and unrestricted Louisiana license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Current LOCUS and CALOCUS certification/training
  • Maintain required LOCUS/CALOCUS credentials, training, or competency requirements throughout employment
  • Ability to appropriately apply LOCUS/CALOCUS criteria
  • Minimum of three years of post-graduate behavioral health experience preferred
  • Previous clinical-supervision or clinical-leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with Louisiana Medicaid behavioral health services strongly preferred
  • Experience with CPST and PSR services preferred
  • Experience reviewing behavioral health documentation for medical necessity and Medicaid/MCO compliance preferred
  • Experience with children, adolescents, adults, and families with behavioral health needs
  • Knowledge of utilization management, authorizations, and level-of-care criteria
  • Knowledge of CARF standards and quality-improvement processes preferred
  • Applicable Louisiana board-approved supervisory credential or designation required if providing formal supervision toward professional licensure
  • Pass state background check

  • Complete First Aid/CPR
  • Submit official college transcripts
