About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver consistent, engaging onboarding experiences for new hires in DLB Associates' Design Department
- Facilitate multi-day, in-person orientation sessions at the DLB-LAB in Bell Works
- Deliver content on DLB culture, values, operating norms, communication standards, tools, and expectations
- Coordinate orientation logistics, including scheduling, room setup, AV equipment, presenters, workstations, and participant communications
- Manage cohort sizes and coordinate overflow or alternative session dates
- Create and manage virtual cohort communication channels and encourage community-building
- Prepare participants for each session with logistics, travel guidance, schedules, and pre-reads
- Enforce LAB norms and coach presenters on room engagement
- Conduct one-on-one check-ins with new hires throughout their first year
- Identify and escalate disengagement, role confusion, or development needs
- Distribute and discuss 30/60/90-day development guides
- Track onboarding participation and completion and provide status reports to leadership
- Answer new-hire questions and connect them with subject matter experts
- Learn and internalize DLB culture, operating model, tools, and technical vocabulary
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, department leaders, and People Development to maintain current orientation content
- Identify content gaps and update training decks, guides, and reference materials
- Support development of the DLB Boot Camp program for entry-level and intern cohorts
- Support updates to 30/60/90-day onboarding guides
- Support trade team leadership with technical training
- Coordinate department-level onboarding with corporate training initiatives
- Communicate corporate training schedules and integrate them into onboarding timelines
- Participate in training meetings with People Development, HR, and department stakeholders
- Maintain the annual orientation schedule and coordinate with hiring forecasts
- Manage logistics, presenter invitations, and Bell Works facility needs
- Assist with offer-letter language and mandatory training communications
- Complete assigned deliverables on time and on budget
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field; OR associate's degree or equivalent with demonstrated experience in professional training, adult education, or people development
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in professional training, adult education, corporate learning and development, or a related field
- Experience facilitating in-person group sessions required
- Experience in a corporate or technical environment preferred
- Experience in onboarding program coordination or HR/People Operations a plus
- Experience in engineering, construction, or mission-critical industries a plus but not required
- Skilled in facilitated group instruction, classroom management, and adult learning principles
- Demonstrated ability to present with energy, credibility, and audience awareness
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple cohorts, schedules, and follow-up tasks
- Skilled in Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to learn and authentically represent organizational culture, values, operating norms, and technical vocabulary
- Ability to adapt delivery and communication style to diverse audiences
- Knowledge of basic instructional design principles
- Ability to track and report training participation, completion, and outcomes accurately
- Ability to leverage AI and technology tools for content development and communications
- Ability to operate independently and escalate strategic decisions appropriately
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Frequently remain in a stationary position and move through office, facility, and other environments
- May occasionally move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
