About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead all aspects of routine and complex design and construction projects
  • Drive project design from site acquisition through design and construction
  • Develop owner project requirements, initial space planning efforts and schematic design
  • Represent DLB at site visits, existing condition surveys and punchlists
  • Evaluate subcontractor proposals and recommend contract awards
  • Lead pre-construction activities, including project initiation, kickoff, RFIs and submittals
  • Coordinate resource and material forecasting
  • Develop, manage and monitor project schedules
  • Lead project meetings and coordinate project teams
  • Coordinate and perform QA/QC plans and specifications
  • Oversee subconsultant activities
  • Develop cost and time schedules with the project team
  • Assign and schedule duties for project team members
  • Coordinate or oversee startup, cutover, testing and project closeout
  • Prepare, forecast and monitor project budgets, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization
  • Communicate with clients regarding additional fees and change orders
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Develop cost schedules and schedules of value for client progress billing
  • Lead proposals, presentations and firm marketing efforts
  • Promote DLB services and expertise to existing and potential clients
  • Maintain client relationships and identify new projects
  • Serve as primary client contact and ensure client satisfaction
  • Review and distribute daily reporting
  • Manage project contract administration and personal/project hours
  • Complete departmental reports and assigned deliverables on time and on budget
  • Lead strategic use of technology, digital platforms and AI-enabled tools for workflow automation, forecasting, documentation, reporting and quality processes
  • Support adoption of advanced analytics, data visualization and digital construction management platforms
  • Ensure technology solutions align with DLB standards for data security, privacy and operational integrity
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • B.A. / B.S. degree in engineering, construction or related discipline OR two years of additional experience in related field in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in related field
  • Advanced knowledge of industry trends, project management and construction procedures and best practices
  • Advanced knowledge of MEP / FA / FP trades and general requirements
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods and coordination of people and resources
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in construction of mission critical, commercial buildings or other structures
  • Advanced proficiency producing drawings and visual aids using AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore
  • Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form, including technical and non-technical information
  • Ability to communicate directly with clients and serve as primary client contact when required
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with onsite and remote team members
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
  • Ability to analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues
  • Approximately 15% travel, potentially to any or all 50 US states
  • Physical ability to remain stationary frequently, move through office/facility environments, and occasionally move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
