About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process full-cycle Canadian semi-monthly payroll for approximately 400 employees and U.S. bi-weekly payroll for approximately 1,500 employees
  • Lead payroll reconciliation activities for Canada and the U.S., including payroll registers, funding/wires, comparison reports, general ledger accounts, statutory remittances, benefit deductions, and payroll-to-HRIS validation
  • Maintain reconciliation documentation and audit trails while auditing employee master data, payroll interfaces, and benefit vendor files
  • Analyze, calculate, and prepare payroll input data including new hires, terminations, salary changes, and vacation pay
  • Administer and maintain Short-Term Disability payments
  • Monitor Canadian and U.S. payroll legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries regarding earnings, deductions, and related concerns
  • Manage payroll remittances and reconciliations for third-party organizations, government agencies, and regulatory bodies
  • Verify, reconcile, and produce government documents including ROEs, T4/T2200s, W-2 slips, and year-end tax reports
  • Participate in payroll-related projects, process improvements, and other assigned duties
  • Support DLL’s Human Resources team in payroll, benefits, and HR administration

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • College/post secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years of end-to-end payroll administration or payroll specialist experience, including multi-provincial Canadian payroll and U.S. multi-state payroll supporting cross-border payroll operations
  • Benefits Administration and PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation are an asset
  • Experience with payroll systems such as Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, UKG, Workday, SAP, or Oracle HCM
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), payroll and HRIS systems
  • Demonstrated experience performing payroll reconciliations, account balancing, variance analysis, and audit support activities
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and data integrity issues
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Background check required
  • This is a hybrid position with 2 days a week in the office
