Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead dLocal’s strategy and partnerships in Malaysia to enable local payments processing for international merchants
  • Contact potential partners, including acquirers and banks, and build relationships
  • Negotiate and execute commercial partnerships and agreements
  • Work with internal operations, product, and technology teams on roadmaps and partnership integrations
  • Analyze performance results and optimize accordingly
  • Improve operational capabilities for different payment methods
  • Stay current on local regulatory and licensing requirements and assess their business impact
  • Work closely with merchants and the commercial team on key product development
  • Maintain personal networks and participate in professional organizations, conferences, and industry events
  • Contact local lawyers, accountants, and tax experts to ensure operations run appropriately
  • Stay current on local regulations and engage with regulators when necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Open to constant change in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter willing to work across time zones with teams worldwide
  • Proven experience in payments or other financial systems in Asia
  • Proven success partnering and working cross-functionally
  • Significant experience negotiating and executing contracts and agreements
  • Established relevant business network
  • Willing and able to take smart risks based on solid strategy and deep partnership understanding
  • Able to lead a project or participate effectively as a team member and work cross-functionally with other organizations
  • Thorough knowledge of the market
  • Commitment to compliance and understanding of the regulatory environment in Malaysia
  • Technical knowledge is a plus
