About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the Transaction Tax Compliance organization, including managers, senior managers, and support teams
  • Own compliance operations, ensuring accurate and timely filing of returns and payments according to regulatory requirements and client contracts
  • Establish and enforce compliance standards, controls, and operational guidelines
  • Drive process improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, scalability, and client satisfaction
  • Oversee client transitions from implementation into compliance production
  • Serve as senior escalation point for complex compliance issues, audit findings, and client concerns
  • Partner with senior leadership on staffing models, capacity planning, and workforce strategy
  • Lead talent development, performance management, coaching, succession planning, employee relations, and workforce engagement
  • Support recruitment and hiring efforts
  • Oversee audit readiness and support SOC and other operational audits
  • Collaborate with Practice Development and business leaders on client discussions and service positioning
  • Conduct leadership, management, and departmental meetings
  • Assist with business development and strategic client initiatives
  • Provide hands-on support reviewing returns or resolving issues during peak periods
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 10+ years of experience in transaction tax compliance, with progressive leadership responsibility
  • Proven experience leading managers and overseeing large compliance operations
  • Deep knowledge of transaction tax compliance regulations, filing requirements, and operational best practices
  • Strong ability to assess risk, implement controls, and drive compliance excellence
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Proven ability to build strong client relationships and influence senior stakeholders
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel to client locations as needed
  • Regular 40-hour work schedule
  • Less than 10% travel
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and sounds
  • Frequent repetitive motions with hands
