About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct property tax reviews for DMA clients and manage assigned client accounts
- Analyze and consult on complex personal property compliance projects and assessment reviews of machinery and equipment
- Implement tax savings recommendations and strategies
- Lead business development activities
- Coordinate client management during and after the review process
- Develop and maintain long-term client relationships, including expanding services and cross-selling
- Identify and develop property tax opportunities with internal Business Development groups
- Conduct physical inspections of facilities and meet with on-site management
- Present findings and recommendations to clients
- Communicate with state and local taxing authorities through negotiations, appeals, and board hearings
- Research tax laws, regulations, court decisions, industries, economics, comparable companies, and financial statements
- Coordinate and review the activities of Analysts, Consultants, and/or Tax Managers
- Assist with National Accounts and business development professionals in developing customized solutions
- Participate as a speaker or panel member at tax community events and conferences
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or related field (Master’s or CPA preferred)
- 7+ years of property tax consulting, valuation, or related experience, with demonstrated leadership responsibilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with valuation models preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams effectively
- Ability to travel 25–40% as required
- Regular 40-hour work schedule
- Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and sounds
- Frequent repetitive motions with hands
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
