About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Set up, adjust, and operate lasers and brake presses to produce parts according to instructions
Use precision measuring instruments to check part quality
Maintain parts flow according to Kanban guidelines and department work rules
Support data collection and Continuous Improvement activities
Ensure quality of parts and workmanship
Cross-train between operations
Follow safety procedures and work instructions
Assist other team members as required
Maintain cleanliness of the work area
Perform other duties as assigned
Design and develop brake press programs
Set up, check programs, and operate automatic numerically controlled machines
Arrange and secure tooling; mount, align, and secure holding fixtures
Set stops and calibrate fixtures to reference points
Manually cycle machines to check fixtures, work positions, tooling, clearances, speeds, and feeds
Adjust machines or consoles to correct deviations
Set up and instruct other machine operators when required
Set up, adjust, and operate CNC-controlled laser cutting machines
Cut pieces from sheet and steel plate stock of various gauges
Set laser cutting conditions and make adjustments as needed
Identify parts and inspect cut-edge quality
