About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Interpret prints to ensure parts and machines meet specifications
  • Recommend modifications to preliminary engineering designs for process, safety, quality, and cost
  • Work with departments during prototype and pilot builds
  • Investigate and recommend modifications to parts or processes
  • Program and troubleshoot laser, press brake, machining center, and robotic equipment
  • Plan sequences of operations for manufacturing processes
  • Assist with evaluating, justifying, designing, selecting, and implementing machines, tools, and equipment
  • Investigate manufacturing process problems involving safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Implement recommendations to resolve manufacturing problems
  • Implement engineering changes on the shop floor
  • Write work instructions and train operators
  • Assist with project implementation and startup
  • Apply engineering procedures to establish manufacturing standards for manpower, material, and equipment utilization

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent
  • Strong applied mechanical skills and willingness to use them
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to exert 51–70 pounds of force occasionally, 21–50 pounds frequently, and/or 11–20 pounds constantly
  • 0–2 years of experience
  • Less than 10% travel
  • Manufacturing or product development experience preferred
