About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Bring original, exclusive and creative videos to life from idea to execution
- Participate in pitching, booking, filming, editing and delivering final assets for PEOPLE’s social channels and app
- Develop creative ideas and work with celebrity talent
- Produce article-treatment videos during breaking news situations
- Monitor, pitch and create videos from red carpet events
- Work independently during evening breaking news situations
- Pitch, create and deliver newsworthy videos and cuts of exclusive PEOPLE interviews
- Assist the Senior Content Creator with pre-production on major PEOPLE shoots
- Develop questions for talent and pitch fun, scroll-stopping social concepts
- Shoot social-first videos and edit video content
- Attend red carpet events to produce, film, edit and post video content
- Pitch and create compelling social videos
- Collaborate with reporters, editors, social video producers, designers and the Video team
- Conduct interviews and produce talent
- Attend events on behalf of the brand and capture content
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or communications, related field or equivalent training and/or experience
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience working in a fast-paced, creative environment
- Proven success in building and growing audiences for media sites and digital brands
- Understanding of social media with a focus on reaching Gen Z audiences
- Strong news judgment and ability to work across all PEOPLE verticals
- Ability to assess performance data and newsworthiness to guide decisions
- Proficiency editing videos in Adobe Premiere
- Expertise in TikToks and Reels
- Unique voice that fits and evolves the People brand
- Passion for creating, dissecting and consuming all kinds of content
- Sharp eye for editing content thoroughly on tight deadlines
- Availability to attend live events for the People brand and capture content
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in various content management systems
- Ability to work independently during breaking news situations
- Ability to attend meetings and assist with guidance of other team members
- Ability to join live events and travel as assigned
