About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations throughout all phases of project design under close supervision
  • Develop mechanical system layouts for HVAC, hydronic piping, ductwork, and equipment placement
  • Prepare equipment schedules, diagrams, and layout plans with guidance from senior engineers
  • Support construction administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, and participating in assigned site visits
  • Use CAD and modeling software to create coordinated 2D drawings and 3D mechanical models
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, modelers, and other disciplines to coordinate designs
  • Incorporate quality control feedback and redline comments to improve accuracy, constructability, and consistency of deliverables

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, building systems design, or a related field required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
  • NCEES record maintenance for future licensure preferred
  • Working knowledge of applicable mechanical codes and standards
  • Working knowledge of CAD and modeling software
  • Ability to create coordinated 2D drawings and 3D mechanical models
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers, designers, modelers, and other disciplines
  • Ability to participate in site visits and construction administration activities
