About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Produce mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations throughout the project design lifecycle from conceptual design through construction documents
- Support mechanical system designs, including HVAC distribution, piping layouts, and equipment selection
- Perform airflow, heating and cooling load, pipe sizing, and pressure loss calculations with guidance from senior engineers
- Support construction administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, and participating in site visits
- Create coordinated 2D drawings and 3D mechanical models using CAD and modeling software
- Participate in internal and external coordination meetings to communicate progress and resolve design issues
- Identify personal training needs, seek knowledge from others, and identify technical and process improvements
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, modelers, and external stakeholders to deliver coordinated design solutions within budget and schedule
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience required
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering required
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- NCEES record for licensure maintenance preferred
- Basic knowledge of applicable mechanical engineering codes and standards
- Working knowledge of CAD and modeling software
- Strong record keeping skills
