About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, specify, develop, and test power system architectures and requirements
  • Work on miniature power conversion and management circuitry, distributed power architectures, radiation-hardened designs, battery management circuitry, small motor controllers, switched-mode power conversion, and precision feedback systems
  • Perform engineering work during initial planning and design phases for system specifications and requirements
  • Optimize system designs for reduced size, weight, and power
  • Design new products and develop technical specifications for production
  • Analyze hardware configurations and processing solutions
  • Test hardware conformance to specifications
  • Develop requirements and propose solutions when customer requirements are unclear or incomplete
  • Develop advanced architectures and designs for complex electronics as a Subject Matter Expert
  • Participate in business development and proposal activities
  • Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies
  • Manage multidisciplinary tasks with cross-functional teams and communicate status to project leadership and customers
  • Develop, document, and teach best practices to less experienced teammates
  • Demonstrate organization, planning, and time management to achieve program goals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field required
  • 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering or related field
  • Proficient with schematic capture and printed circuit board layout
  • Ability to perform circuit simulation using Spice or other simulation tools
  • System modeling and analysis experience using MATLAB, Simulink, or other comparable tools
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Required to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
  • Advanced degree preferred
