About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Research and develop agentic capabilities, including model and tool orchestration, deep research, retrieval, and information enrichment
- Shape agentic system design and develop orchestration, planning, and tool-use methods for reliable workflows
- Advance agentic AI and NLP using execution traces, user feedback, and fine-tuning
- Build benchmarks, simulators, and evaluation suites combining annotation workflows and adversarial testing
- Define problems, manage data, conduct experimentation, and validate results end to end
- Partner with engineering through deployment
- Identify risks early and challenge ideas constructively
- Mentor fellow researchers
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of hands-on AI/ML experience, owning multiple projects from problem definition to real-world use
- Deep generative AI and NLP expertise, with experience developing agentic or complex ML systems at scale
- MSc or PhD in a relevant field, or equivalent research accomplishments
- Strong Python and PyTorch or JAX skills, with experience building data, training, and evaluation pipelines
- Systems judgment: ability to connect model, tool, and workflow behavior to overall performance and make sound technical trade-offs
- Independent ownership, comfort with ambiguity, and rigorous, reproducible evaluation within security and compliance constraints
- Simulator design is a plus
- Relevant industry or military R&D experience valued
