About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Take responsibility for and edit scripts for entertainment, narrative, children’s and family programs
- Brief writers, provide constructive feedback and refine texts collaboratively
- Ensure quality and adherence to deadlines
- Co-develop topics and concepts for new productions, from the initial idea through to a stage-ready script
- Conduct thorough research, review research and verify facts
- Coordinate texts with the director, music and projections
- Manage productions editorially, monitor timelines and coordinate with the director, artists and production team
- Conduct conversations with artists and creative partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Several years of editorial experience, ideally in a TV editorial department (e.g. entertainment/show, documentary, history, factual or children’s programming)
- Comparable experience in radio, podcasts, theatre/dramaturgy or live entertainment is welcome
- Strong understanding of dramaturgy, including narrative arcs, the hero’s journey and character development
- Experience editing copy and collaborating with writers
- Confident handling of research and sources
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Structured, independent approach to work
- Excellent written and spoken German
- Additional languages are an advantage
- Ability to independently write scripts, narrative texts, dialogue or host scripts is an advantage
- Experience with children’s and family formats is an advantage
