About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide support to the operational unit for safe installation, repair, and maintenance of control, measurement, instrumentation, and electrical components
- Implement safe work practices and a proactive safety culture while ensuring employee, public, and environmental safety
- Ensure regulatory compliance and record-keeping requirements are met and monitored
- Install, repair, and maintain dehy, amine, compressor plant power and control systems
- Maintain pipeline compression stations and emergency valves
- Maintain communications, power, and controls
- Maintain electronic flow meters, including orifice, magnetic, turbine, and ultrasonic measurement equipment
- Maintain pressure, flow, level, and temperature indicating equipment
- Maintain compressor and PDC building safety equipment, including fire and gas sensing equipment
- Work with programmable logic controllers, Ignition and SCADA systems
- Maintain gas chromatograph and moisture, H2S, O2, and CO2 analyzing equipment
- Maintain remote valve controls and logic
- Rebuild control valves, regulators, and XV actuators
- Maintain H2S scavenger equipment, uninterruptible power supplies, fiber and cellular communications and networking, emergency generator controls, heat trace systems, and RO systems
- Perform minor maintenance and respond to emergency situations
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- I&E Controls Tech II: 3 years of related experience
- Possess & maintain a valid driver’s license
- Mechanical aptitude
- Obtain all beginning PSM, CBT and OQ tasks within 6 months
- Emergency Response base level understanding
- High integrity and self-motivated
- Excellent vehicle driving record
- Basic computer skills
- Good communication, problem solving and physical perceptive skills
- Must be able to work and perform without close supervision
- Team player
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and perform frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing
- Ability to perform minor maintenance with medium to heavy lifting requirements
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Required color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision, plus ability to adjust focus
- On-the-spot decision making in stressful situations
- Work unsupervised in field operations and alone 30% of the time
- Work in all types of weather
- Remain calm and focused during emergency situations
- Excellent driving skills and driving record
- Ability to work near moving mechanical parts, at heights, near toxic or caustic chemicals, and around electrical, wet, humid, fume, airborne-particle, and vibration hazards
