About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as Principal-in-Charge / Senior Project Manager on large-scale, complex, multidisciplinary CEQA/NEPA projects
- Lead high-profile projects and ensure delivery within budget and scope
- Make independent decisions on project strategy, risk management, and execution
- Lead and review high-value proposals and contract negotiations
- Lead business development and identify new market opportunities
- Build and maintain client and regulatory agency relationships
- Represent Dudek in professional organizations and industry conferences, including public speaking
- Ensure technical quality, regulatory compliance, and quality control of deliverables
- Track budgets, profitability, forecasts, risks, scope creep, contract amendments, invoices, and budget reconciliation
- Manage multiple large contracts and mitigate financial and contractual risks
- Lead high-stakes meetings, public hearings, and project-related events
- Provide strategic client advocacy in regulatory and permitting processes
- Mentor staff and facilitate development of managerial skills
- Lead market expansion, conference panels, training sessions, thought leadership, and strategic partnerships
- Manage overall team performance and project financial performance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Planning, or a related field
- 18+ years’ experience managing CEQA/NEPA projects
- Demonstrated mastery of the stated duties and responsibilities
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical writing and analytical skills
- Successful team management, leadership, and staff mentorship experience
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
- Mastery of contract management, budgeting, and invoicing processes
- Thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and permitting processes
- Successful client service history resulting in long-term client relations and cross-discipline business development
- Professional presentation abilities before governing bodies at public meetings and hearings
- Valid driver’s license and active personal automobile liability insurance by the first day of employment
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
- U.S. work authorization required
