About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the process framework effort throughout Power Grid Operations
- Lead and execute key process improvement and business integration efforts using Lean and DMAIC methodologies
- Own the lean/continuous improvement process from identification through implementation and operational sustainability
- Engage senior organizational levels and lead Lean events based on senior management priorities
- Work with management to provide input on potential events, scope and facilitate events, create business readiness requirements and action items, oversee execution, and track progress
- Immerse in the business to ensure successful future-state outcomes
- Partner with stakeholders, leadership, analytics resources, and change management leaders
- Document activities, monitor action items, and communicate event progress to leadership
- Coach and train peer teams and Lean event participants
- Own and execute Lean events and business integration efforts, including stakeholder engagement, process assessment, event planning and facilitation, implementation strategy development, readiness efforts, sustainment tracking, follow-up, and check-and-adjust activities
- Generate and deliver process framework work products and business integration requirements
- Coach and mentor peer teams and stakeholders on Lean concepts and application
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of related experience in continuous improvement business, Engineering, Operations Management, Organizational Leadership, Project Management, or another related field; alternatively, an associate degree with 11 years of related experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, business process management, project management, business integration, organizational effectiveness, or a related discipline
- Lean, Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher
- Operational knowledge of the PGO organization
- Demonstrated ability to use and apply Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement tools
- Willingness to immerse self into the business to enhance business acumen and event-specific knowledge
- Ability to meet targeted deadlines with a quality work product
- Initiative to identify actions required to achieve goals independently
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and identify analytics supporting lean efforts
- Ability to create open, collaborative communication resulting in aligned results
- Ability to navigate conflicting views across employee levels and develop a go-forward plan
- Effective communication with multiple organizational levels; ability to translate event outcomes into concise summaries and create an engaging presence
- Familiarity with change management fundamentals (ADKAR, etc.)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and process modeling or business analysis tools such as Microsoft Visio
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Ability to work hybrid from onsite and remote locations and live within a reasonable commute, not greater than 50 miles one way, to the designated Duke Energy facility
