About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides engineering and technical expertise and guidance in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems of increasing scope and complexity
- Contributes to team decision-making through planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring work activities
- Manages changing priorities and differing situations affecting team work
- Prepares technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
- Conducts engineering and related studies
- Completes routine engineering projects with minimal oversight and increasingly manages project schedules and interfaces
- Designs, operates, and maintains systems with moderate impact on existing systems
- Develops positive working relationships to coordinate work activities
- Maintains accurate records and files
- Supports company goals and represents the company positively and professionally
Requirements
What you’ll need- Engineer I: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program; a master's degree in engineering can be considered in lieu of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree
- Engineer II: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program; a master's degree in engineering can be considered in lieu of the Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree
- Engineer II: Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam preferred
- Increasingly proficient in principles of project management preferred
- Experience in the utility industry preferred
- Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department preferred
- Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles preferred
- Increasingly proficient in researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing and presenting recommendations preferred
- Good written and oral communication skills preferred
- Some business units may require visits to field sites and/or plants
- Travel requirements: 15–25%
