About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee development and implementation of compliance program solutions that meet stakeholder needs
- Analyze excavation damage data and maintain compliance with CFR 192.614 Damage Prevention Program
- Meet with excavation contractors to ensure safe digging practices
- Coordinate with locate contractors and develop relationships with NGBU personnel, contract locators, and excavators
- Develop, communicate, and gain approval for compliance program scope, cost, and schedule
- Manage reporting of contractor damages to state damage review boards and assist with complaint responses
- Plan and facilitate Damage Prevention Awareness events educating the public and excavators about 811 laws
- Compile and organize damage prevention data and information in SharePoint
- Participate in Utility Coordinating Committees, Common Ground Alliance, and other industry associations
- Liaise with state one-call centers and support public education events
- Provide administrative support for communications, meetings, notifications, and events
- Provide monthly damage data reporting to state commissions
- Support monthly damage data scrubbing and performance metric development
- Attend contractor meetings to discuss damages and corrective actions
- Conduct regular field visits; approximately 60% office time and 40% field time
- Develop evaluation methods to assess program strengths and identify improvements
- Review and approve invoices and track program budgets
- Ensure work is performed safely and efficiently
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management or a related field and minimum 5 years of related work experience
- In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, High School Diploma/GED and 9 years of related work experience
- Five (5) years of natural gas related experience desired
- Demonstrated process development experience
- Demonstrated project management and planning skills and abilities
- Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures; ability to interpret technical information and instructions
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, GIS, and Adobe products
- Ability to work with individuals from varied socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
- Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic and stressful environment
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner with little or no supervision
- Working knowledge of natural gas federal and state regulatory codes and standards
- Working knowledge of natural gas pipeline operations and/or construction
- Ability to work additional hours as needed
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Good vision and hearing acuity for communication with others
- Able to travel 25–50% and travel to operations centers, industry conferences, and regulatory reviews
