About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead complex or high-profile cross-functional continuous improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodology
  • Facilitate project identification and completion with stakeholders, process owners and project teams
  • Provide internal consulting services including process mapping, value stream mapping, process design, methods development, performance standards and metrics, return-on-investment or value proposition analysis, project management and detailed process analysis
  • Use Lean Six Sigma, Agile and Design Thinking tools
  • Utilize data and Lean Six Sigma/EQ frameworks to help teams develop and implement solutions
  • Perform change management functions to ensure successful implementation
  • Challenge conventional wisdom tactfully by demonstrating Lean Six Sigma methodology
  • Lead, motivate and influence cross-functional teams across the organization
  • Achieve goals and targets for projects that may be up to $1 million in scope
  • Work from remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period
  • Travel occasionally as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum four (4) years of related work experience in addition to a bachelor's degree
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (preferred)
  • PMP Certification (preferred)
  • Demonstrated effective use of analytical and soft skills (preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of effective meeting facilitation and preparation of technical documentation (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Minitab and workflow process software (e.g., iGrafx, Visio, etc.) (preferred)
  • Strong leadership skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams (preferred)
  • Ability to work onsite at the designated Duke Energy facility as required, averaging 3 full workdays per regular workweek
  • Ability to live within a reasonable commute (not greater than 50 miles one way) to the designated Duke Energy facility
  • Willingness to travel 5–15%
