About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop the scope, technical basis, installation, and testing requirements for electrical engineering design changes
- Provide engineering expertise and guidance to identify, analyze, and resolve increasingly complex problems
- Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
- Conduct engineering studies and complete routine and complex engineering projects with minimal oversight
- Design, operate, and maintain electrical systems with moderate impact on existing systems
- Manage project schedules and interfaces
- Coordinate work activities and maintain accurate records and files
- Mentor less experienced engineers
- Fill in during the department manager's absence
- Support company goals and represent the company professionally
- Conduct plant system walkdowns and provide field support for modification implementation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1 year of nuclear power plant experience
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or state registration as a Professional Engineer
- Master's degree in engineering may be considered in lieu of the bachelor's engineering degree
- Lead-level nuclear qualification: Professional Engineer registration, or a master's degree in a technical discipline, SRO certification, RO or SRO license, or Technical Nuclear certification
- Ability to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access/Security clearance
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Working knowledge of ETAP software
- Knowledge of nuclear industry cyber security control practices
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
- Ability to fulfill possible Emergency Response Organization responsibilities, callouts, on-call rotation, and Fit for Duty requirements
- Occasional overnight travel and 5–15% travel
- Additional hours during scheduled refueling outages
