About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as Portfolio Manager for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Coordinate, integrate, and provide quality assurance for the Midwest Power Grid Operations capital investment planning process
  • Focus on the Enterprise Capital Optimization cycle and rolling five-year capital plan
  • Consult with Program Owners to align roadmaps, plans, and budgets with strategic objectives
  • Consult with Business Owners and internal parties to develop strategic program roadmaps
  • Provide subject matter expertise on program planning, scope, schedules, budgets, and risks
  • Consolidate plans with other Portfolio Leads into enterprise and organizational roadmaps
  • Monitor and maintain strategic program roadmaps of potential solutions
  • Align potential projects with Duke Energy and business unit plans
  • Address data gaps with Business Owners and serve as the integration point between business-owner organizations and work teams
  • Annually assess strategic program management plans for current objectives, requirements, scope, benefits, goals, milestones, annual costs, and risks
  • Escalate and update significant gaps

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree and 8 plus years related work experience OR HS/GED and 12 plus years related work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Expertise to Strong Expertise in Portfolio Management, Leadership, Oversight, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving
  • Portfolio-related work experience
  • PMI (PMP), CMII, AACE, utility technical certifications, or contractor's license
  • Utility experience
  • Portfolio and program management knowledge
  • Strong expertise in strategic portfolio planning and delivery
  • Experience with technology planning and system enhancements
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement, three days in the office per week
  • Willingness to travel 15–25%
