About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop maintenance work documents, administrative controls, specific work instructions, and post-maintenance test requirements
- Provide instructions to plant personnel to support safe and efficient unit operation, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance
- Prepare and update work packages for condition reports, routine activities, reported deficiencies, and enhancements
- Validate component and plant discrepancies identified on work requests
- Convert Work Requests (WR) to Work Orders (WO)
- Walk down jobs to identify needed support information
- Develop work order tasks for support groups and Post Maintenance Testing (PMT)
- Identify man-hours for craft corrective and preventative maintenance work packages for online and outage scheduling
- Define procedures, drawings, equipment, and materials required for work packages
- Facilitate package preparation by identifying isolation requirements, scaffolding, temporary power tasks, and related needs
- Verify work instructions are adequate and comply with applicable station procedures
- Review and plan work order instructions for Engineering Changes (ECs)
- Identify and request corrections and revisions to the Equipment Database, Bill of Materials, Drawings, and Plant Procedures
- Process Preventive Maintenance Revision (PMR) change assignment requests, including changes to existing PMs and creation of new PMs
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School/GED or Technical degree AND three (3) years minimum required related experience
- 2yr technical degree in the discipline in which applying or equivalent (preferred)
- Microsoft Office Products
- 5 years nuclear maintenance experience or 10 years nuclear plant experience (preferred)
- 5 years technical experience directly related to the discipline, or a combination of prior planning and technical experience
- Technical experience in Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, HVAC, Valves, Pumps, or equivalent military experience
- Self-motivated with strong job ownership and ability to work independently with minimal supervision (preferred)
- Basic Work Management skills (preferred)
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Willingness/ability to work hybrid, including reporting to the assigned Duke Energy facility an average of 3 full workdays per regular work week
- Must live within a reasonable commute, not greater than 50 miles one way, to the designated Duke Energy facility
- Travel requirements: 5–15%
