About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Procure goods and services supporting Regulated and Renewable Energy
- Validate pricing and quantities, request quotes, resolve terms and conditions, issue and manage purchase orders and contracts, expedite orders, coordinate logistics, and resolve invoices
- Generate sustainable cost savings and inventory reduction savings
- Advise business units on procurement processes, sourcing options, materials management strategies, cost controls, and procurement issue avoidance
- Develop and improve supplier relationships and ensure compliance with supplier agreements
- Analyze supplier capabilities and performance, negotiate cost savings and inventory reductions, and liaise between suppliers and business units
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and Duke Energy business standards
- Manage daily, monthly, and quarterly reports
- Support Duke Energy’s safety culture and operational excellence initiatives
- Provide after-hours and weekend emergent-duty phone support according to the assigned rotation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Procurement Specialist: Bachelor’s degree + 2 years work experience OR Associate’s degree + 4 years work experience OR HS/GED + 6 years work experience
- Senior Procurement Specialist: Bachelor’s degree + 5 years work experience OR Associate’s degree + 7 years work experience OR HS/GED + 9 years work experience
- Procurement Specialist: advanced planning, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytics skills
- Senior Procurement Specialist: proficient planning, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytics skills
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Maximo experience
- Supply Chain-related work experience
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, business acumen, and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to manage a robust workload
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Must possess all basic/required qualifications
