About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage or assist with all phases of project planning and execution
- Ensure project scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration factors are met
- Manage a portfolio of low- to moderate-risk projects
- Provide project leadership, decision-making, management, guidance, coordination, and control
- Create, staff, and lead project teams across internal and external organizations
- Guide matrixed team members and coordinate with functional leaders on placement, development, and conflict resolution
- Establish and maintain communications among project and program stakeholders
- Structure, lead, or assist with project-related meetings
- Prepare, communicate, and report monthly project status and required weekly/monthly communications
- Develop and communicate project plans and reporting in accordance with PMCoE standards and business-unit procedures
- Plan scope, work definition, estimates, schedules, cost controls, procurement, contracting, equipment and vendor selection, commissioning, operations turnover, warranty management, and integration
- Execute projects within approved scope, cost, and schedule constraints
- Manage project deliverables, work breakdown structure, budgets, risks, quality, safety, environmental, security, communications, change management, and closeout
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree and 5 years minimum related experience
- In lieu of degree: High School / GED and 9 years minimum related experience
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Reliable, consistent transportation
- Ability to live within a reasonable commute, not greater than 50 miles one way, to the designated Duke Energy facility
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred: Certified Associate of Project Management
- Preferred: Professional Engineer
- Preferred: Configuration Management II Professional (CM2-P)
- Preferred: Project Management Professional
- Preferred: Utility Technical Certifications or Training
- Preferred: Working knowledge to proficiency in project management, decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving
- Preferred: Project-related work experience
- Preferred: Risk management and project leadership
- Preferred: Collaborative team member experience
- Preferred: Utility experience and construction management knowledge
