About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage or assist with management of all phases of project planning and execution
- Ensure project scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration success factors are met
- Manage a portfolio of low- to moderate-risk projects, typically White or Green ranked under the Project Management Center of Excellence Risk-Informed Project Ranking Process
- Provide leadership, decision-making, management, guidance, coordination, and control of projects
- Provide leadership, oversight, delegation, and coordination with internal and external project service organizations
- Guide matrixed team members and interface with functional leaders on placement, development, and conflict resolution
- Establish and maintain communications among project and program stakeholders
- Structure, lead, or assist in project-related meetings
- Prepare, communicate, and report monthly project status and required weekly/monthly communications
- Develop and communicate project plans and appropriate reporting methods
- Communicate effectively with appropriate management
- Plan projects, including scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspects
- Lead project planning across work definition, estimating, scheduling, cost control, procurement and contracting, equipment and vendor selection, commissioning, operations turnover, warranty management, and integration
- Execute projects within approved scope, cost, and schedule constraints
- Develop or manage project components including objectives, stakeholders, deliverables, WBS, budget, risks, quality, safety, environmental, security, integration, data management, communications, change management, and closeout
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of related work experience
- In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related work experience: High School/GED and 9 years of related work experience
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Working knowledge to proficiency in project management, decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving
- Project-related work experience
- Risk management and project leadership experience
- Collaborative team participation
- Gas utility experience
- Construction management knowledge
- Working knowledge to proficiency in project-related scheduling and cost controls
- Travel requirement of 5–15%
- Preferred certifications/training include Certified Associate of Project Management, Project Management Professional, utility technical certifications or training, and/or PMP Certification
