About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage or assist management of all phases of project planning and execution
- Ensure project success factors are met, including scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration
- Manage a portfolio of low- to moderate-risk projects
- Provide leadership, decision making, management, guidance, coordination, and control of projects
- Create, staff, and lead project teams
- Provide oversight, delegation, and coordination with internal and external organizations
- Guide matrixed team members and interface with functional leaders regarding placement, development, and conflict resolution
- Establish and maintain communications among project and program stakeholders
- Structure, lead, or assist with project-related meetings
- Prepare, communicate, and report monthly project status and required weekly/monthly communications
- Develop and communicate project plans and reporting in accordance with PMCoE standards and business-unit procedures
- Plan project scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality aspects
- Lead project planning, estimating, scheduling, cost control, procurement and contracting strategies, equipment and vendor selection, startup and commissioning, turnover to operations, warranty management, and integration processes
- Execute projects within approved scope, cost, and schedule constraints
- Manage project deliverables, work breakdown structure, budgets, resources, risks, quality, safety, environmental, security, integration, data, communications, reporting, change management, and project closeout
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree and 5 years minimum related experience
- In lieu of degree: High School / GED and 9 years minimum related experience
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Reliable, consistent transportation
- Ability to commute no more than 50 miles one way to the designated Duke Energy facility
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred: Certified Associate of Project Management
- Preferred: Professional Engineer
- Preferred: Configuration Management II Professional (CM2-P)
- Preferred: Project Management Professional
- Preferred: Utility Technical Certifications or Training
- Preferred: Working knowledge to proficiency in project management, decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving
- Preferred: Project-related work experience
- Preferred: Risk management and project leadership
- Preferred: Collaborative team-member experience
- Preferred: Utility experience and construction management knowledge
