About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide integral administrative support to Duke Energy's Government & Community Relations department for North Carolina
  • Support four district managers and vice presidents in community and government relations work
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, and minutes using Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Prepare and update functional reports and records compiled from multiple sources
  • Receive, screen, and direct incoming calls, visitors, mail, and email
  • Maintain files and calendars
  • Arrange business travel, coordinate meeting arrangements, and track expenses
  • Support regional volunteer coordination
  • Assist with social media monitoring
  • Support North Carolina storm/emergency preparedness plans before, during, and after events
  • Manage foundation grant inquiries and processing
  • Process invoices
  • Monitor and manage emails and calls into the NC Environmental Justice account
  • Assist with time entry for the North Carolina State President's organization
  • Maintain accurate community relations managers' key contact lists
  • Update individual budget reports for community relations managers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Eight (8) years minimum of related work experience in addition to high school diploma
  • Prior strong administrative or secretarial experience
  • Strong computer skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (both written and oral) in a clear, concise and effective manner
  • Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented, ensuring tasks are done with accuracy
  • Ability to effectively interface with multiple across a department, e.g. managers, supervisors, employees
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, demanding environment with changing conditions
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement from remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period
  • Live within a reasonable commute to Raleigh office
  • May be required to travel 5-15%
  • May be required to work overtime
