About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop scope, technical basis, installation requirements, and testing requirements for engineering design changes
  • Perform or support Stress Analysis, Structural Analysis, Dynamic/Seismic Analysis, Steel Design, and Concrete Design
  • Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, and present recommendations
  • Provide ongoing support for assigned engineering design changes through work order reviews, corrective action program assignments, and field installation support
  • Develop or revise design/procurement specifications and technical requirements documents
  • Develop or revise complex engineering calculations
  • Develop licensing screens and evaluations
  • Revise site design basis documents, design drawings, and regulatory documents
  • Work in an office environment with some plant work for system walkdowns and field support of modification implementation
  • Participate in occasional overnight travel, with travel requirements of 5–15%

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Engineer III: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or a Master's degree in Engineering in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Engineer III: 4-6 years of engineering experience
  • Engineer III: Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience
  • Senior Engineer: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program, or a Master's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree
  • Senior Engineer: Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Senior Engineer: Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience
  • Must meet the minimum ANSI requirements identified within Nuclear Operating Fleet Administrative Procedure AD-LS-ALL-0011 and Confirmation of Regulatory Guide 1.8 Personnel Qualifications
  • Able to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access/Security clearance
  • May be required to have Emergency Response Organization responsibilities, including callouts and on-call duty rotation, and be Fit for Duty
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment as needed
  • Additional hours expected as workload/business need requires
  • Occasional overnight travel
  • Must be able to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Preferred: Proficiency in engineering theories and principles
  • Preferred: Proficiency in project management principles
  • Preferred: Utility industry experience
  • Preferred: State registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Preferred: Strong background in Mechanics of Materials
  • Preferred: Experience performing Finite Element Analysis
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of Structural Analysis software such as ANSYS or GTStrudl
  • Preferred: Experience with Dynamic/Seismic Structural Analysis
  • Preferred: Working-level knowledge of Stress Analysis software such as SuperPipe, AutoPipe, or Caesar II
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of ASME Codes, AISC Steel Construction Codes, and ACI Concrete Design Code
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Solidworks or equivalent 3D modeling software
  • Preferred: Experience with nuclear industry standard design process
