About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop scope, technical basis, installation, and testing requirements for engineering design changes involving AC/DC power systems, large AC motors, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, protective relaying, voltage regulators, breakers, and related systems
- Provide engineering and technical expertise and guidance to identify, analyze, and resolve increasingly complex problems
- Contribute to team decision-making through planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring work activities
- Prepare technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches
- Conduct engineering and related studies
- Complete engineering projects with minimal oversight and increasingly manage project schedules and interfaces
- Design, operate, and maintain systems with moderate impact on existing systems
- Coordinate work activities and maintain accurate records and files
- Support company goals and represent the company positively and professionally
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must meet minimum ANSI requirements identified in Nuclear Operating Fleet Administrative Procedure AD-LS-ALL-0011 and Regulatory Guide 1.8 Personnel Qualifications
- Electrical Design Engineer III: 1 year of nuclear power plant experience
- Electrical Design Engineer III: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Electrical Design Engineer III: Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience
- Senior Electrical Design Engineer: 1 year of nuclear power plant experience
- Senior Electrical Design Engineer: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or state registration as a Professional Engineer
- Senior Electrical Design Engineer: Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience, or 5 years of engineering experience with state registration as a Professional Engineer
- A Master's degree in engineering may be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's degree
- Able to achieve nuclear site Unescorted Access/Security clearance
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Working-level knowledge of ETAP software preferred
- Experience with utility/nuclear industry and nuclear industry standard design processes preferred
- Proficiency in engineering research, design issue evaluation, alternatives analysis, recommendations, project management, and technical/analytical practices preferred
- Required to wear personal protective equipment as needed
- Available for additional hours during scheduled refueling outages
- Occasional overnight travel
- May be required to perform Emergency Response Organization responsibilities, callouts, on-call duty rotation, and remain Fit for Duty
