About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the company’s strategic outreach efforts for large transmission projects
  • Develop and manage strategic engagement plans for large, complex transmission projects
  • Engage and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Serve as a key project team member advocating for the public’s interests and negotiating mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Develop external communications strategies with internal stakeholders, including management, corporate communications, community relations, legal, engineering, and siting teams
  • Develop proactive strategies to manage potential opposition related to transmission projects
  • Interact with external stakeholders to identify solutions supporting overall project goals
  • Lead strategy, preparation, and collaboration for public hearings
  • Collaborate with project teams throughout the siting and development of transmission lines, substations, and transmission capital projects
  • Build trusted relationships with project neighbors, local governments, and others affected by capital projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five (5) years minimum of related work experience
  • In lieu of degree: high school diploma/GED and seven (7) years minimum of related work experience
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Availability for travel and after-hours events
  • Frequent travel to construction sites to meet with crews and customers
  • Availability to serve in an “on-call” basis
  • Demonstrated organization, planning and independent decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office programs
  • Demonstrated financial and project management skills
  • Demonstrated skills in community involvement and/or public participation
  • Experience with developing, implementing and monitoring strategy
  • Demonstrated problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Ability to effectively navigate internal and external relationships to achieve business objectives and maintain relationships
  • Ability to work independently and receive minimum guidance
