About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide advanced-level work management support for PGO Grid Operations DCC
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of work supporting safety, reliability, storm restoration, and cost management
  • Solve complex problems and drive process improvements
  • Coordinate cross-functional workflows and support a strong customer experience
  • Communicate with operations, management, employees, leaders, and customers
  • Track work status and monitor reports for process adherence and scheduling timelines
  • Manage workflows, billing, timesheets, general ledger accounting, accruals, invoices, expense reports, and work-order reconciliation
  • Support leadership with scheduling, phone coverage, travel arrangements, expense reports, calendars, meetings, reports, presentations, and correspondence
  • Provide emergency support including dispatching, emergency locates, oil-spill reporting, meter pinging, ETOR updates, event assignments, and outage-management updates
  • Update storm resource tracking and outage management tools during storm restoration
  • Support programs, projects, processes, corporate initiatives, and special projects across work groups
  • Participate in safety meetings and support the Human Performance safety culture
  • Follow ergonomics and safety guidelines
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and development
  • Maintain confidential information professionally and discreetly

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School/GED degree
  • Two (2) years related work experience
  • Advanced, fully competent knowledge of applications used in Distribution, Customer Experience and Services
  • Flexibility and dependability during normal work schedule and after-hours emergency storm restoration
  • Effective teamwork
  • Knowledge of local ordinances, permits, and inspections
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively
  • Good judgment in decision making
  • Ability to work independently in resolving problems
  • Investigative, research and analytical skills for complex work order status, auditing and corrections
  • Critical thinking to resolve issues independently and with limited supervision
  • Ability to manage external communication and resolve escalated customer situations
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
  • Ability to work onsite and remotely, live within a reasonable commute of a designated Duke Energy facility, not greater than 50 miles one way
  • Availability to report to the assigned facility, on average 3 full workdays per regular workweek
  • Ability to work 5–15% travel
