About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide advanced-level work management support for the PGO Grid Operations Distribution Control Center
- Support safety, reliability, storm restoration, cost management, and customer experience objectives
- Solve complex problems and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Coordinate cross-functional workflows and collaborate with work groups, employees, leaders, supervisors, and managers
- Track job status and report details to appropriate personnel
- Communicate regarding proper execution of work
- Manage billing, invoicing, expenses, timesheets, accruals, invoices, and general ledger accounting
- Reconcile credit cards, expense reports, work order materials, labor, and equipment
- Dispatch daily work to field performers
- Monitor reports and ensure work is scheduled within established timelines
- Use Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and work management systems to prepare correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, minutes, calendars, and meetings
- Support leadership with scheduling, phones, expense reports, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination
- Provide emergency support including dispatching, emergency locates, oil spill reporting, meter pinging, ETOR updates, event assignments, and outage management event creation and clearing
- Update storm resource tracking and outage management tools during storm restoration
- Support programs, projects, and processes using work management applications
- Participate in safety meetings and support Human Performance, Wellness, and corporate initiatives
- Administer special projects across work groups, including employee survey, charitable, diversity and inclusion, and wellness activities
- Demonstrate continuous learning and development
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School/GED diploma
- Two (2) years related work experience
- Advanced, fully competent knowledge of applications used in Distribution, Customer Experience and Services
- Advanced knowledge of system applications used in Distribution, Customer Experience & Services
- Knowledge of local ordinances, permits, and inspections
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Previous customer service experience
- Ability to prioritize work effectively
- Good judgment in decision making
- Ability to work independently in resolving problems
- Investigative, research, and analytical skills for complex work order status, auditing, and corrections
- Critical thinking to resolve issues independently and with limited supervision
- Ability to manage external communication and resolve escalated customer situations
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Ability to live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility for hybrid work
