About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Instruct, plan, and align RRE technical training programs
  • Support training across Solar, Battery Storage, Hydro, Simple Cycle, and Combined Cycle generation technologies
  • Support training for new and existing Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle plants
  • Collaborate with site leadership, managers, and supervisors to implement training and qualification programs across the RRE fleet
  • Benchmark, strengthen, and align technical training and qualification programs
  • Serve as the single point of contact for Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle training inquiries and requests
  • Research, review, and evaluate training courses and skills for value, consistency, and alignment with RRE business practices
  • Establish contacts and subject matter experts for disciplines and training topics
  • Advance program requirements in response to business, fleet, organizational, and technology changes
  • Identify employee knowledge and skill gaps and develop training mitigation plans
  • Assess training programs and courses
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, monitor, and report training participant activities
  • Conduct training courses in the primary and other disciplines as appropriate
  • Administer training products and services to achieve business goals and support customer training needs
  • Monitor current and emerging training practices, trends, and methods
  • Attend industry and company-sponsored seminars and conferences
  • Travel throughout RRE with overnight stays

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree AND 5 years minimum required related work experience
  • Alternatively, Highschool/GED AND 9 years minimum required related work experience
  • ADDIE Instructional Design
  • Communication
  • Training Instruction and Training Programs
  • INPO Certifications
  • Experience with Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle Operations or other Generation
  • Understanding and application of the systematic approach to training
  • Experience in GE or Siemens gas turbines, including startups, shutdowns, outages, Combined Cycle, Steam Plants, and Simple Cycle units
  • Formal training and knowledge of Power Plant Operations
  • Experience with PLC Controls / Computer Networking
  • Working knowledge of Power Distribution systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Project management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Formal training in adult learning and/or instructional design for a systematic approach to training
  • Demonstrated presentation skills to speak effectively to large and small groups
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
