About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute Transmission Provider (TP) activities and support Duke Energy initiatives regarding the TP function
- Support Duke Energy Transmission Owner (TO) functions
- Provide input into business practices supporting TP and TO functions
- Monitor TP and TO filings, business practices, and the regulatory environment for changes in rules
- Represent Duke Energy concerning TP and TO issues
- Provide operational support during emergencies and storms
- Develop and manage transmission tariffs, contracts, and agreements with transmission customers
- Interface with transmission customers and providers to develop, manage, and implement terms and conditions of transmission tariffs, interconnection agreements, and generator interconnection agreements
- Coordinate negotiation and execution of transmission service agreements and generator interconnection agreements
- Coordinate with Corporate Accounting and Billing for account setup and accurate billing and payment posting under the OATT
- Monitor and maintain transmission customer accounts and respond to customer questions
- Determine prospective customer creditworthiness and secure appropriate credit instruments
- Negotiate acceptance of Letters of Guaranty and Letters of Credit
- Update approved customer lists and FERC Electronic Quarterly Report (EQR) based on credit-related changes
- Implement process measures for Transmission Service Agreements and participate in developing transmission provider process measures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Other Related Degree for Analyst, or Business or Other Technical Degree for Senior Analyst
- Analyst: five (5) or more years related work experience
- Senior Analyst: six (6) or more years related work experience
- Alternative for Analyst: High School/GED and nine (9) or more years related work experience
- Alternative for Senior Analyst: High School/GED and ten (10) or more years related work experience
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Other Technical Degree
- Preferred: NERC Certified Operator
- Knowledge of the Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT) and Federal regulations impacting the OATT
- Knowledge of Duke Energy transmission system and operating procedures, generation assets and operating procedures, FERC, NERC, NAESB, SERC and RFC standards and practices, utility practices, procedures and requirements concerning transmission operations, and RTOs
- Experience applying contract management fundamentals
- Proficiency in MS Office and OATI OASIS
- Demonstrated planning, organizational, leadership, computer, self-management, goal-setting, prioritization, deadline-management, communication, influencing, teamwork, and continuous-improvement skills
- Ability to interface with difficult customers and absorb technical information
- 5–15% travel required
