About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in two to three rotational sessions across different departments, including Transmission Work Management, Construction Management, and Project Management
- Work with the program coordinator during the initial session to plan future rotations
- Gain experience in scheduling, strategic oversight of work plans, and resource allocation
- Support transmission groups in planning and executing construction-related activities
- Contribute to scheduling work activities and track construction production and field status
- Liaise between contractors and Duke Energy engineers and project managers
- Help ensure safety, financial, reliability, and schedule goals are met
- Contribute to project direction, leadership, and management, with focus on resource allocation, cost control, and scheduling
- Participate in design and analysis of structures, systems, and facilities within the Transmission department
- Develop skills in managing project timelines, budgets, and resource plans
- Collaborate with engineers, construction teams, and project managers to support project goals and milestones
- Travel to project sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree in Construction Management
- Must not graduate prior to August 2027
- Cumulative college GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week throughout the 12-week program
- Ability to work full-time for the 12-week co-op duration
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Interest in working in an engineering, construction, or project management environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced work environment
- Field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- May be required to meet requirements for unescorted access/security clearance, depending on work location
- Required to wear personal protective equipment, as needed
