About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee, manage, and perform specialized inspections of completed contractor/vendor work on residential and non-residential DSM programs
- Ensure QA/QC and compliance with PSC mandates and code specifications
- Manage field activities and contractor/vendor performance through continuous monitoring
- Act as technical liaison between Duke Energy, inspection authorities, builders, and contractors/vendors
- Implement and coordinate training to enhance Program Inspector and contractor/vendor skills
- Manage compliance inspections, invoicing, Fastrack, and contractor/vendor feedback surveys
- Develop business relationships with contractors/vendors, manufacturers, inspection authorities, builders, and third-party vendors
- Research, recruit, select, and train program contractors/vendors
- Execute meetings and quarterly contractor/vendor performance evaluations
- Develop training seminars for internal and external personnel
- Manage contractor/vendor contractual obligations and relationships
- Collaborate on DSM Program filings, implementation, and quality control
- Mentor team members and support management capability development
- Manage company safety protocol and administrative responsibilities
- Serve as a technical resource for DSM Program application and effectiveness evaluation
- Develop improvement strategies for inspection, administrative, finance, and operations performance
- Manage inventories, licenses, insurance, background checks, supplied inventory, and certification/license renewals
- Develop communications about DSM and energy-efficiency plans, activities, and initiatives
- Perform residential and non-residential Energy Checks as needed
- Resolve high-level customer inquiries, PSC complaints, and damage claims
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School/GED
- Minimum 5 years related work experience
- Certified Energy Auditor
- Home Energy Rater
- Dust Diagnostics and Combustion Safety
- Minimum 3 years experience managing QA/QC processes supporting Utility Energy Efficiency programs
- Knowledge of Duke Energy's business objectives, strategies, DSM programs, products and services
- Experience in making decisions, exercising good judgment, and setting priorities
- Experience with electrical and HVAC mechanical operations, building and construction principles, and building code
- Must be capable of climbing, bending, lifting a minimum of 25 lbs. and working in confined spaces
- Must be approved to wear a respirator for extended periods of time while in attic spaces, exposed to elevated temperature conditions or within crawl space underneath structures, exposed to particulates
- Comprehensive financial and business acumen
- Business operation experience
- Effective analytical, problem identification, diagnostic and resolution skills
- General knowledge/understanding of utility regulatory environment
- Interpersonal, communication, presentation, conflict resolution, management, leadership, and facilitation skills
- Must live within a reasonable daily commute to the assigned work location
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
