About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and manage the product roadmap
- Build, groom, and prioritize the product backlog
- Continuously manage expectations with relevant stakeholders, including senior leadership
- Manage sprint planning and participate in sprint reviews, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and other relevant ceremonies
- Develop a deep contextual understanding of customer, worker, and user needs
- Gather market feedback through user interactions, focus groups, and industry research
- Write detailed functional specifications, user stories, and product documentation
- Collaborate with developers, designers, and analysts to implement and deliver products and features
- Collaborate on product vision, strategy, decision-making, tactical execution, and measurement systems
- Communicate roadmap stages and timelines to key internal stakeholders
- Lead a single team developing a complex or large-scale product and manage the product lifecycle
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 4 years related work experience
- In lieu of a Bachelor's degree and 4 years related work experience: High School/GED and 8 years related work experience
- Must be able to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future
- Must live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility, not greater than 50 miles one way
- Expected to report to the assigned Duke Energy facility, on average 3 full workdays per regular workweek
- Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action, preferably with experience shipping software
- Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a new product development team
- Strong understanding of the SDLC process and ability to work in an agile environment with bi-weekly releases
- Experience with relevant new product or technology development in a fast-paced environment
- Experience operating in a KPI-driven environment
- 5–15% travel
- Product Owner Certification, Agile Product Owner certification, Six Sigma “Black Belt” certification, Jira experience, AI-enabled product development experience, and Duke Energy grid planning experience are desired or preferred qualifications
