About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of security operations and engineering capabilities
  • Triage and respond to Tier 1 and Tier 2 security incidents and alerts, including investigation, containment, and escalation
  • Monitor security event queues and analyze alerts from SIEM and other security tooling
  • Document findings, resolutions, system behavior, requirements, test results, and process changes
  • Analyze security systems, architectures, and data flows to identify vulnerabilities and coverage gaps
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, and user stories
  • Assist with security validation and testing activities
  • Analyze security event, alert, and incident trends to identify emerging threat patterns and operational improvements
  • Assist with incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
  • Ensure security operations and engineering activities align with compliance requirements, NIST 800-53, PCI-DSS, and internal policies
  • Work closely with the CISO and Cyber Team to identify security gaps and operationalize threat intelligence

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • 2-3 years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, IT security analysis, or a related security role
  • Hands-on experience with security tools (SWG, CASB, ZTNA, Cloud SIEM, EDR/XDR, DLP)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Understanding of encryption, authentication, and secure protocols
  • Experience supporting security control testing or penetration testing activities
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday business hours and participate in after-hours, weekends, or on-call support rotations as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain a government security clearance
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards (NIST 800-53, STIGs) (preferred)
  • Experience with AWS cloud security (preferred)
  • Basic experience with query languages or scripting (KQL, SPL, SQL, Python) (preferred)
  • Industry-recognized security certifications (GSEC, Security+, CySA+, SSCP) (preferred)
