About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available hybrid cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and on-premises datacenter environments
- Provide hands-on engineering expertise across compute, storage, networking, operating systems, databases, applications, and cloud services
- Evaluate infrastructure designs and recommend solutions improving reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across multiple technology-stack layers
- Identify opportunities to automate infrastructure deployment, configuration, monitoring, and operational processes
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
- Use scripting and automation to improve reliability, reduce manual effort, and accelerate service delivery
- Evaluate infrastructure performance, utilization, and cost for optimization opportunities
- Lead complex infrastructure and cloud projects from planning through implementation
- Coordinate technical activities across engineering, operations, security, application, and stakeholder teams
- Establish milestones, track progress, identify risks and dependencies, and drive issues through resolution
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams and project stakeholders
- Analyze and reconcile infrastructure cost, inventory, utilization, performance, risk, and operational metrics
- Use advanced Excel and data analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, risks, and improvement opportunities
- Develop and present dashboards, reports, and performance metrics to technical and executive audiences
- Partner with developers, security, operations, architecture, and business stakeholders
- Present technical strategy, project status, risks, performance, and recommendations
- Translate complex technical concepts into actionable information for technical and non-technical audiences
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure architecture, configurations, processes, standards, and procedures
- Mentor engineers and team members
- Research emerging technologies and recommend tools, platforms, and best practices
- Promote standardization, operational excellence, security, and continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of hands-on AWS experience, including designing, implementing, and supporting production cloud environments
- 5+ years of network engineering and administration experience, including enterprise networking concepts and troubleshooting
- 5+ years of Windows and Linux systems administration experience
- Strong understanding of hybrid cloud and datacenter architecture, including servers, networking, storage, databases, applications, and cloud services
- 5+ years of experience administering and supporting web server technologies, such as IIS, Tomcat, WebSphere, or similar platforms
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
- Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar technologies
- Experience with enterprise infrastructure, monitoring, security, reporting, and IT service management tools, such as Rapid7, CrowdStrike, Ivanti, Elasticsearch, Splunk, Dynatrace, Power BI, Jira, and ServiceNow
- Demonstrated experience leading complex technical projects involving multiple teams and stakeholders
- Proven ability to analyze technical, operational, financial, and performance data and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts, recommendations, and project status
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated focus on continuous improvement
- Experience providing technical leadership to engineering teams, directly and through cross-functional project leadership
- Ability to independently learn and quickly adopt new technologies, products, platforms, and deployment models
- Preferred: hands-on Microsoft Azure experience
- Preferred: relevant AWS and Microsoft certifications, such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator, or Microsoft Azure certifications
- Preferred: experience working in enterprise-scale or highly regulated environments
- Preferred: experience with cloud cost management, FinOps, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization
- Preferred: experience implementing and operating highly available and resilient cloud architectures
- Preferred: knowledge of security, compliance, vulnerability management, and cloud governance best practices
- Preferred: experience working within ITIL-based service management environments
