About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership for the design and development of innovative applications built on ServiceNow Financial Services Operations and the Assure Platform
  • Define target architecture for Assure Smart Apps across ServiceNow FSO, Assure Platform, Assure Orchestration, Insurance Services, integrations, data services, and insurance administration applications
  • Create reference designs, guardrails, shared components, and standards promoting consistency, reuse, tenant isolation, security, and upgradeability
  • Determine appropriate use of native FSO capabilities, scoped application components, workflow services, configuration, and Assure-specific extensions
  • Guide responsive user experiences, workflows, approvals, orchestration flows, events, notifications, and API interactions
  • Establish integration and data patterns for governed data products, transactional APIs, events, messaging, Workflow Data Fabric, and enterprise data platforms
  • Govern data products and schema evolution across customer implementations
  • Define source control, branching, automated testing, configuration capture, approval workflows, rollback practices, and release traceability
  • Run design reviews, document decisions, manage exceptions, represent Smart Apps in governance forums, and ensure adherence to relevant standards
  • Translate architecture into implementation guidance, acceptance criteria, reference implementations, backlog direction, and reusable templates
  • Coach architects and engineers, review critical designs, promote approved patterns, and build shared understanding across teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Substantial experience designing enterprise applications, SaaS solutions, or complex software platforms across the full delivery lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience architecting scoped applications, workflow-driven solutions, reusable components, and release practices on ServiceNow
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow Financial Services Operations and its data, process, and experience capabilities for insurance-oriented applications
  • Ability to design across ServiceNow, Assure Orchestration, Insurance Services, the Assure Platform, and core insurance administration applications
  • Experience designing responsive interfaces, REST APIs, webhooks, event-driven patterns, governed data products, data synchronization, ServiceNow Workflow Data Fabric integrations, security protocols, error handling, and observability
  • Experience with Git-based source control, automated pipelines, configuration promotion, testing, approvals, rollback, and release traceability
  • Knowledge of tenant isolation, RBAC, identity federation, OAuth, SAML, OIDC, encryption, secrets management, privacy, audit, and least-privilege design
  • Ability to explain architecture clearly to executives, customers, architects, engineers, and operational teams while driving decisions across organizational boundaries
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • ServiceNow CSA, CAD, Certified Application Architect, Certified Technical Architect, or comparable credentials preferred
  • Experience with policy, billing, claims, servicing, regulatory, or financial services operations preferred
  • Experience with App Engine Studio, Studio, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, UI Builder, Automated Test Framework, Application Repository, source control integration, and update governance preferred
  • Knowledge of Terraform, scripting, pipeline orchestration, platform provisioning, and environment configuration automation beneficial
  • Experience with API management, microservices, event platforms, containers, identity services, monitoring, and resilient cloud design beneficial
  • Ability to evaluate and incorporate AI, automation, analytics, and agentic workflow capabilities where they provide measurable business value
