About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide professional consulting services supporting Defense Health Agency client revenue cycle and operational needs
  • Analyze and reconcile accounts receivable data to identify trends, patterns, errors, and improvement opportunities
  • Support development and implementation of accounts receivable management strategies and best practices
  • Participate in process discussions and client meetings regarding accounts receivable findings and recommendations
  • Develop reports and presentations summarizing accounts receivable performance
  • Prepare and organize materials for internal and external revenue cycle audits
  • Develop clear, concise, and well-supported audit responses
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, complete, organized, and aligned with regulatory guidelines
  • Support corrective action plans and audit remediation strategies, including tracking implementation progress
  • Support compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls related to revenue cycle activities
  • Monitor compliance with federal, industry, Financial Management Regulation, and Defense Health Agency guidance
  • Participate in compliance audits and reviews to identify risks and potential non-compliance
  • Develop compliance training materials and presentations
  • Track and monitor compliance issues and resolutions
  • Assist with planning, execution, and monitoring of projects
  • Contribute to project plans, timelines, and deliverables
  • Track project progress and identify risks and issues
  • Participate in internal and external team meetings and knowledge-sharing activities
  • Facilitate communications among project team members, business partners, and client stakeholders
  • Prepare project status reports and presentations
  • Research and analyze industry trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Maintain a strong understanding of federal healthcare regulations and policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle operations, healthcare finance, or healthcare consulting
  • General understanding of the end-to-end revenue cycle, including registration, charge capture, coding, billing, payment posting, denials, and collections
  • Experience pulling and working with healthcare data to find trends or errors and summarize results
  • Experience working in an electronic health record or revenue cycle system
  • Ability to write clear documentation, such as process notes, SOPs, or reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and basic formulas
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn new systems, federal regulations, and client processes
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
  • Desired: proficiency with electronic health record and revenue cycle software and systems, including Oracle/Cerner MHS GENESIS Patient Accounting Module CPAM, SSI Electronic Claims Clearinghouse, 3M 360 Encompass, Alpha II, Dentrix Billing, RevSpring, Excel, Power BI, SAS, Tableau, Qlik Sense, ABACUS, M2, MDR, EAS IV, and Health Data Intelligence/HealtheAnalytics
  • Desired: hands-on experience in billing, claims follow-up, denials management, payment posting, or collections
  • Desired: experience supporting compliance reviews, audit readiness, or corrective action plans
  • Desired: experience developing training materials or delivering training
  • Desired: experience supporting MHS, DHA, Veterans Health Administration, or other federal healthcare organizations
