About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide network and media digital forensics, advanced threat hunting, and malware analysis across NCUA infrastructure
  • Execute proactive defense through IOC sweeps, host interrogation, and persistent threat hunting
  • Investigate Virtual Machines, CloudTrail, and IAM logs
  • Leverage EDR, SIEM, and full packet capture for hunt and investigative activity
  • Provide status updates according to the Enterprise Incident Response Plan battle rhythm and Monthly Technical Status Report
  • Maintain SOPs for malware analysis, forensic analysis, and advanced threat hunting
  • Produce incident response and forensics reports covering findings, analysis, recommendations, and lessons learned
  • Develop forensic tools, scripts, and methods
  • Coordinate and support NCUA Insider Threat investigations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 5 years of experience conducting or supporting digital forensic analysis across Windows, Linux, and Mac
  • Experience with digital media acquisition (disk duplication), mobile device acquisition/analysis, and malware analysis
  • Experience with M365, Azure, and AWS
  • Ability to investigate Virtual Machines, CloudTrail, and IAM logs
  • Experience using EDR, SIEM, and full packet capture for endpoint and network-based investigations
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Preferred certifications include SANS GIAC: GCIH, GCFA, GCFE, GREM, GISF, GXPN, GCTI, GOSI; EnCase: EnCE, CFSR, ENCEP
